Internal and external issues related with the purpose and strategic direction of Ege Ship Recycling which effect reaching management system results are determined. In addition to the national environmental and OHS regulations, international conventions (BASEL, ILO, IMO) to which our country is a party on Ship Recycling and the EU Ship Recycling Regulation MEPC (Marine Environment Protection Committee decisions) environmental and OHS legislative obligations have been integrated into its activities.
Legal requirements are fulfilled by creating processes, procedures, instructions and relevant documents for the implementation of the relevant legislation. Waste is separated at the source, disposal of hazardous wastes is done through licensed companies; OHS and environmental measurements (noise, vibration, emission, dust, sea water, soil analysis, periodic controls of construction equipment, grounding, etc.) are carried out by accredited organizations. In case of exceeding the values or non-compliance, necessary measures are taken, the relevant legislation in terms of OHS and environment is followed and its compliance is constantly monitored.
Legal regulations related to OHS and Environment are followed by the integrated management systems responsible and in case of amendment, abolition or new publication, they are published and put into practice by stating them in the form of assessment of compliance with the legislation.
ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 30000:2009 standards are implemented in our company. Our company is outside the scope of ISO 9001:2015 8.3 Design and Development of Products and Services.
It is ensured that scrap sheet metal and mines resulting from the dismantling of scrap ships are supplied to the iron and steel industry as raw materials, reusable electrical-electronics, machinery, deck equipment and equipment to the shipbuilding and yacht industry. Employees' OHS and Environmental training needs and proficiency are ensured by employed full-time occupational safety specialists, environmental engineers and independent experts.
Necessary equipment is available in order to be ready for fire, occupational accident, sea pollution and natural disasters that may occur in the activities. With drills, employees are ensured to be ready for emergencies.
